Common questions about chartering the Vanquish VQ40

The Vanquish VQ40 carries up to 8 guests plus a professional skipper.

The VQ40 is certified for up to 8 passengers plus your skipper. With a generous 12.5-metre deck featuring bow seating, a sun pad, and a sheltered cockpit, there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out — whether you are a family, a group of friends, or a mix of both.

A Seabob, stand-up paddleboard (SUP), and full snorkelling gear are included at no extra cost.

Every VQ40 charter includes a Seabob underwater jet, a stand-up paddleboard (SUP), and premium snorkelling equipment (masks, fins, and noodles). These are all included in the charter price — no hidden extras. The Seabob is a particular highlight, letting guests explore Sardinia's crystal-clear waters at speed.

Dutch-built aluminium hull, FLIR thermal imaging, marine radar, and a distinctive minimalist design set the VQ40 apart.

The VQ40 stands out for its Dutch craftsmanship — a precision-welded aluminium hull that is lighter and stronger than fibreglass. It is also the only boat in our fleet fitted with FLIR thermal imaging and high-end marine radar, giving exceptional safety and navigation capability. The minimalist Vanquish design is instantly recognisable on the water.

Top speed is 33 knots. It easily reaches Tavolara, Molara, La Maddalena, and the Costa Smeralda in a single day.

Powered by twin 440 HP Volvo Penta IPS engines, the VQ40 reaches a top speed of 33 knots. From Golfo Aranci, a day trip can comfortably cover Tavolara and Molara (20 minutes), the Costa Smeralda (30 minutes), or the La Maddalena archipelago (around 1 hour). Your skipper will plan the most efficient route based on your wish list.

The VQ40 burns roughly 100 litres per hour at cruising speed, costing approximately €200/hour in fuel.

The twin Volvo Penta engines consume approximately 100 litres per hour at cruising speed, which translates to around €200 per hour in fuel. A typical full-day charter to Tavolara and back uses significantly less because much of the time is spent at anchor. Visit our Fuel & Routes page for detailed cost estimates for every destination.
